Ash Wednesday
Our Saviour’s is marking Ash Wednesday, March 5, twice!
First from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. next Wednesday Pastor Katrina and two other pastors will hold an “Ashes on the Go” for those who would like to stop by at 9th and Edison in downtown Sunnyside to receive ashes and a blessing.
Then at 7 p.m. next Wednesday OSELC will join an ecumenical worship service to be held at United Methodust Church at 906 E. Edison at 7 p.m.
Please join us as we mark the beginning of Lent!
Healing Service @ OSELC
There will be annointing and prayers for healing on Sunday, March 2, during the 10 a.m. worship service and the 7 p.m. contemporary service
Red wine and chocolate and a visting bishop
Our Saviour’s is putting the fun in fundraising this Sunday, Feb. 23, with a red wine and chocolate event after worship service. A donation of $7.50 per person is suggested for the event, which will feature a chocolate fountain, assorted chocolates, hors d’oeuvres, red wine and sparkling cider. Those who want to drink are asked to bring their own glass.
This Sunday’s worship service at 10 a.m. will also be special as the sermon will be presented by Bishop Martin Wells. Join us for a morning of worship and fellowship!
Taizé Worship Service
Twice in the next four weeks Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will partner with three other Sunnyside churches for Sunday evening Taizé worship services.
The services will be held Sunday, Feb. 23, and March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 327 E. Edison Ave. All are welcome!
Taizé worship includes simple repetitive musical lines based on Biblical texts, along with moments of silence for spiritual reflection.
